Colleagues, Please see inquiry below. Any information is appreciated. Thanks, Dan From: Brent Cooley Sent: Friday, February 10, 2006 10:01 AM To: UCIH Program Management Group Subject: carpet in NMR labs Anyone have experience with carpet being installed in an NMR lab? If so, could you please summarize the pros and cons you've experienced with this set up. We have a new Science bldg coming on line and several faculty members are requesting carpet tile in the NMR space. They state advantages include aesthetics, noise reduction, and small expensive sample tubes don't usually break if dropped. My primary concerns include carpet damage from rolling large liquid N2 dewars around, spills and clean up of contamination, as well as safe procedures for maintenance workers using equipment (vacuums, etc) to clean and maintain the space. Any feedback would be most appreciated. Thanks Brent Brent Cooley, MS, CIH ************************************************ Safety Through Active Caring...Make a Difference Today!
