Hi Mary, I guess that's one possibility. But I'd rather hear it directly from the author and not presume to guess. So many people (as you note) get it wrong in a wide variety of ways that I feel more comfortable just asking for a clarification. I'm on vacation so nothing is going to get me going. I'm so laid back that all I see here in Germany is the ceiling. I'm still in favor of the snap, crackle, pop approach to eye protection. ... Jim In a message dated 12/20/2005 11:19:05 A.M. What he's saying is the catalogue said "meets ANSI Z87.1 for eye protection". I see ads like this all the time and I'm sure the rest of you do too. Combine vague or even misleading ads, inadequate labeling requirements (I know that'll get you going Jim, since we've disagree on that issue before!), and inadequate training, and you've got the all-too-common occurrence of people wearing safety glasses for chemical splash protection. And note that "education" does not = "training". Some of the most difficult cases I've had in convincing that glasses can't be substituted for goggles are my PhD's (and some of them still pull the splash plugs out rather than switch to fog-free goggles that I've painstakingly researched and made sure the dept offers....sigh...)
