Dear Colleagues: My friend and I have the unenviable job of coordinating the Academic Affairs newsletter for the American Society of Safety Engineers. We would like to include a new column, with the working title of "Nuggets." Our idea is to use experiences from practicing safety and health professionals in institutions as a teaching tool. Specifically, since our audience are instructors/professors in SEH, we would like to know about situations that you found, and how you fixed them. The idea would be that a teacher could find an analogous situation at his/her school and use it as a "show and tell" for the students in the sense that we could bring theory into reality. Mike and I would be willing to publish "name and institution withheld by request" if you are worried about bad press...of course, we would like to be able to print your name and phone number if there are any quesitons. But the situation could be described effectively without identification: for example, at a "mid-sized midwestern college, this situation was encountered at the photo lab.... If you have a situation you wouldn't mind writing up, let us know. Or contact either of us for more information. Thanks.
