Subject: Survey on Laboratory Ventilation Design: VAV and CV
At UNC we are evaluating the benefits and risks of various laboratory
ventilation designs for new construction and renovation projects. We
have benefited from discussions with safety personnel and engineers from
several campuses. However, a broader perspective of the academic
community would be of great value as well. Many of the older laboratory
designs incorporate constant volume exhaust systems (CV). Newer systems
may include Variable Air Volume (VAV) controls on the supply and exhaust
equipment.

Below is the URL to a survey of 21 questions related to issues
surrounding College and University Laboratory Ventilation design
focusing on their safety, reliability, and energy savings for both VAV
and CV systems. Please try to answer as many questions as you can. If
you do not know an answer and are unable to readily obtain this
information, just leave that question blank.

Individual responses will be pooled with the other respondents. At the
end of the survey, you will have the option of viewing the results of
this pooled data.

The survey will be posted for a month.

Thank you in advance for your assistance.
