Renee: Here's the no smoking policy: http://manuals.ucdavis.edu/ppm/290/290-10.htm Most folks are aware of the state law, banning smoking in buildings. And then a directive, implementing a new law in CA prohibiting smoking within 20 feet of doors, etc. http://directives.ucdavis.edu/2004/04-019.cfm A student group (I think) got a grant and had signs made up that they plastered on every exit door on campus: "No Smoking within 20 feet of main entrances, exits or operable windows." We depend on the disgust of the non-smokers to keep the smokers in check. There is a progressive discipline process available for the incorrigible but it's rarely used. Peer-pressure is more effective. Hope this helps, Debbie Debbie M.
