Subject: Cost of hood operation?
Does anyone have a ballpark range of how much
it would cost to run a 4 ft VAV bypass hood for
3 hours per day in a Mid-Atlantic state? Before
the system broke we were running 100 cfm occupied,

and 50 cfm unoccupied.

Right now each of our 4' hoods is running about
500 linear feet per minute (It's hard to open the
doors into the hallway!) and it seems to me that
we may be spending more per year than the
supposed estimate of $2,000 per hood to repair
each one.

Anybody have any numbers?
Thanks in advance.
